Well nephew has arrived!!!! He arrived on October 11. His name is Riker, and he is adorable!!! He weighed in at 9lbs, 10oz and was 21 inches long. He is a cutie. My sister Valerie is doing good, she is still in the hospital and getting lots of rest. I think Riker is adorable, I keep telling my sister he is the cutest American baby boy i've ever seen. 10 Months Old

Image
Jackson is 10 months old today and is sick with a bad cold. He is also cutting more teeth. He had teeth when he was 3 1/2 months old. He now has 8. We haven't been up to much. Of course we continue to do our daily walks. Jackson loves to sit in the grass, eat leaves and play with bugs. He is your typical boy. We will be heading to North Dakota for Thanksgiving, it will be a great time getting together with the family. We will be sending more pictures when we are there, you will then see new pics of Jackson's cousin. Jackson is also starting to stand, he does a great job of it. Did I ever mention that Jackson has a huge head!!!! Well apparently the Bowering men have big heads, I really didn't believe this, but was told this when I was pregnant. Then at one of my last doctor appointment's, I happened to have an intern working with my main doctor. He was feeling my belly to see how the baby was doing and he yelled out "holy cow, that baby has a huge head!!" Now t...

Fall is Upon us

Image
I absolutely love fall, I hate that this season is so short. I love the colors, the cool weather and I love going for walks, with a giant sweater on and of course sipping a nice hot beverage. We have not done alot since fall has arrived. Jackson and I are still walking everyday. We will be heading to North Dakota for about 2 1/2 weeks. My sister is having her second baby and I will be taking Jackson with me to help her out. Jackson will have tons of fun playing with his cousin Lauren and it will be great to see a newborn baby again. I know John will miss us but I'm sure he will get in lots of XBOX time and plenty of pizza eating. I am trying my best to regularly update this blog. Jackson is standing so much, he doesn't seem to want to crawl, but I have been told that John and all his siblings never crawled they all went to walking, so we'll see what happens with him. I hope you all enjoy reading Jackson's blog, I mean our blog to see what is happening in our lives. I do...

Summer Holidays

Image
Wow I can't believe how much fun I had this summer. I did lots of things, I am all tuckered out from the fun. I have been growing very fast, I'm already 9 months old. I love ice cream, chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and mom even gave me a taste of her french fries, but shhhhhh don't tell dad. Have fun reading about our summer, hope you like the pictures. I LOVE the water and swimming and taking baths are so much fun. Well it has been awhile since John and I have done anything with this blog. We have had a busy summer so now that we are actually home, we can try to make more regular updates! Our summer was mostly spent relaxing at the cottage at Lake of the Woods. We had a fantastic time. Jackson absolutely loves the water. He did lots of swimming, went for a canoe ride, tried to help with fishing, and took walks in the sand. Almost every weekend was spent at the cottage, which was great because we have been so blessed with such great weather. We also took a trip ou...

We got a pool

Image
We wanted to get a little pool that Jackson could sit in. We have one that's about 2 feet across that we got at the dollar store. We were looking for something a bit bigger but we wanted it to be inflatable so we could fold it up and possibly take it to the cottage. Anything bigger then 2 feet costs about $30-$40. As we were looking we found that we could get a much bigger pool for a little more then twice that much... so we bought a 12 foot pool! The pool is 12 feet across and 2 1/2 feet deep. It has a pump and filter and is chlorinated. It's small enough that about $25 of chemicals will last us all summer. We decided to save the grass and set it up on the deck. I had no idea how long it takes to fill one of these things up. It took like 3 hours. We picked up a pool cover that helps heat up the water and today when we went swimming the water was 90 Fahrenheit! Very nice. Jackson loves it. We have also uploaded more pictures to our Flicker site here .

Day 7

Image
Hours worked: 5 (2 pm - 7 pm) Workers: Nola, Jackson and me It's done. It's all done. After we got back from church we went to work on the last of the gravel and by about 6 it looked like this: That's a nice picture. We had a little too much gravel, better too much then too little. The whole side of the house is gravel anyway so I just spread it out. And it's done. Of course if your a home owner you know that it's never really done. The air conditioner is still strapped to the wall and I want to put a gate/fence up. Then I want to build a shed it the back corner next to the tree. We laid down some gravel in the corner and I'm going to use some of the paving stones as the floor. I couldn't leave the paving stones on the grass so Nola and I moved all of them. Anyway I'm glad that it's done. I figure I probably saved myself about $6000 by doing it myself. That said I hope I never have to do it again. Thanks to Nola, Mom and Dad, Nig and Reeves (thou...

Day 6

Image
Hours worked: 7:30 (9:30 am - 5:00pm) Workers: Nig, Nola and me (Jackson just watched - slacker) Today was rather simple; shovel gravel into the pit. Lots of gravel. Nig came over and helped shovel for a few hours and we got a lot done. I pretty much shoveled from 9:30 until 5 with only a stop for lunch. My hands and wrist joints are killing me. We almost got it all done today but 20 cubic yards is a lot of gravel. I forgot to take a picture until just now but I think we have about 3 or 4 cubic yards left. I expect a few hours tomorrow afternoon and everything should be done. Thanks again Nig for your help.
